Truro Sexual Health Centre offers a full range of services and provides inclusive, accessible, sexual health services for all people living in the Northern Health Zone of Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia Health is committed to providing safe abortion care and other reproductive care services.  The ROSE Clinic is a procedural abortion and a medical abortion clinic based at the Victoria General site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.

These pharmacist-led clinics will provide an extended suite of pharmacy primary care services at no charge to people with a valid Nova Scotia Health Card. These services include assessment and prescribing for Strep Throat, Pink Eye, UTIs, Chronic Disease Management (Diabetes, Asthma, COPD), prescription renewals for all medications and more. Publicly funded vaccines for adults and children are also available at these clinics as well as medical injections (fee may apply).

Concerned about your health? Wondering if you can care for yourself at home, or need to see a doctor? Call 8-1-1 to talk to a registered nurse around the clock, seven days a week. Our nurses can also provide information about services provided in your area, or general information about your health care concerns.

The Nova Scotia Pharmacare Programs, which are Nova Scotia’s public drug plans, helps residents with the cost of prescribed drugs and devices which are indicated as benefits in the Nova Scotia Formulary, as well as with the cost for some services to which a level of coverage applies under a particular program.

To reduce barriers in accessing healthcare for residents of Colchester, Cumberland, and Pictou counties and the Municipality of East Hants, Public Health is offering free, non-urgent transportation support to get to and from healthcare and wellness appointments and sessions.

Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) are registered nurses who have completed specialized education and clinical preparation in medical forensic care for patients who have experienced sexual assault or abuse. Delivered through contracted service providers, on-call SANE nurses provide immediate care within seven days of a sexual assault to people who would like supportive care, including medical attention, information about resources, as well as the option to have forensic evidence collected.
